Uncle Henrys Working With Section
At Uncle Henrys we work with a number of organisations to promote local produce, local farmers, quality produce and learning outside of the classroom. Here are a selection of the organisations we work with, their aims, and why we feel compelled to support them.
Select Lincolnshire
Select Lincolnshire works with all its members to promote only the finest Lincolnshire produce from the Greater Lincolnshire Area. As a producer all our potatoes and pork carry the Select Lincolnshire brand. We feel this assures our customers of the quality of the produce and emphasises our dedication to providing local produce.
Lincolnshire Quality Beef Lamb and Pork
Lincolnshire Quality Beef, Lamb and Pork (LQBLP) aim to make Lincolnshire meat widely available. Buying from participating outlets means that you are buying meat from a farmer who cares and respects his animals, maintaining the highest standards of traditional stockmanship. As a member Uncle Henrys is both a supplier and retailer of LQBLP products. All our home produced pork carries the brand, whilst we also stock Beef and Lamb from local LQBPL producers in store.
Tastes of Lincolnshire
Through use of their brand together with their exceptional magazine 'The Good Taste Magazine' Tastes of Lincolnshire promote both the most excellent local produce and the best local tourist destinations. Uncle Henrys won Tastes of Lincolnshire Cafe of The Year 2007 and have also been highly commended in categories Grower (Retailer) 2007, Tea Rooms 2008 and Restaurant 2008.
FACE
FACE (Farming And Countryside Education) aim to educate young people about food and farming in a sustainable countryside. At Uncle Henrys we offer school visits for a variety of ages and work with FACE to ensure children get the most out their visit. We currently have around 20 visits from local schools a year
LEAF
LEAF (Linking the Environment and Farming) is an organisation dedicated to sustainable farming. LEAF work with farmers to ensure risks to the environment are kept to a minimum, environmental benefits are maximised and farmers are given the tools to farm efficiently. As Grayingham Grange (Uncle Henrys) is a working farm we work with LEAF to ensure we help enhance the environment in which we farm.
