Open Farm Sunday is one of the farming industry's biggest success stories. Since the first Open Farm Sunday in 2006 over 1,000 farmers across the UK have opened their gates and welcomed people onto their farm for one Sunday each year.
It is a fantastic opportunity for everyone, young and old, to discover at firsthand what it means to be a farmer and the fabulous work they do producing our food and managing the countryside.
Take time to listen to the birds, soak up the scenery, experience the smells of the farmyard and really get in touch with the land that feeds us.
Uncle Henry’s is proud to have be an Open Farm Sunday host farm. Every year we love to see our customers enjoy this unique and educational day out. We work closely with our farming partners to show the real “farm to fork” story. Our different zones tell a journey – ‘down on the farm’ has a machinery display and young farmers on hand running exciting games. You can touch animals and see hatching chicks in the animal discovery zone. Our Lincolnshire Market demonstrates how our crops and animal products are processed into food and other materials – learn about cheese making, bread making and wool spinning. Plant your own seeds in our nature zone inside our walled garden and enjoy tractor and trailer rides!
The event is free to attend but we do have a £1 car parking fee and our various attractions raise money for Brigg Rotary club and their chosen charities. Grayingham Church also provide an excellent stand with face painting, tombola and the ever popular pony rides in the walled garden to raise funds for the church.
Our next Open Farm Sunday event will now take place in 2022, date to be confirmed.
